Ghost was born on January 23, 2025, and comes from the exceptional Rival K9 program. Originally bred to become a police K9, he quickly proved he had a different purpose. Despite his impressive drive and work ethic, Ghost was simply too sweet for the aggression police work required. Instead, he found his perfect fit in scent detection — and we’re so grateful he did.

Hand-selected for us by his breeder and trainer, Russ Bishop of Rival K9, Ghost has an incredible nose, razor-sharp focus, and a natural persistence that makes him an outstanding mold detection dog. Before he could even begin testing for certification, Ghost completed over 150 hours of continuous scent-detection training, building the skills, confidence, and precision needed to do this specialized work with excellence. His work ethic is unmatched — when he catches even the faintest scent, he displays clear behavioral changes and won’t stop until he’s as close to the strongest odor source as he can possibly get.

But Ghost is more than just a working dog — he’s family.

He’s high-energy and absolutely LOVES to work, but he melts right into cuddles at night. He’s wonderful with kids, gentle with families, and happiest when he’s playing with his toys or getting slow ear rubs after a job well done.

With his striking black Dutchie coat and copper brindle markings, Ghost brings a presence that feels both strong and comforting. His role in our business isn’t just technical — it’s healing. He helps families find clarity, peace of mind, and answers during moments that can feel overwhelming.
